Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; facilitate reviews, recognition, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety and health, conduct monthly walks and camera reviews, maintain standards, and prioritize safety for all.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, manage inventory, communicate objectives, and collaborate on events like adoption partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring proven retail leadership, strong people management, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry passion. Key skills include effective delegation, process improvement, compliance enforcement, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Experience with team building, sales driving, and operational efficiency is essential.
