Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using associate feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences, ensure pet safety, resolve concerns, conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, and maintain inventory compliance.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze metrics, execute strategies, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and process improvement. Flexibility for varied shifts and a passion for pets are essential.
