Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, develop associates, conduct reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions; conduct Core & Services Walks; manage inventory and compliance.
- Operational Excellence: Review cameras for safety, handle sick pets, collaborate on events, communicate objectives, and prioritize process improvements.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in team building and development, customer service expertise, financial oversight, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, inventory management, and fostering engagement in a fast-paced environment.
