Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision while driving store success through exceptional service, efficient execution, and team empowerment in our vibrant Scarborough location.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; lead pet parent interactions, resolve concerns, and maintain compliance through monthly walks and camera reviews.
- Operations & Financials: Manage inventory, communicate objectives, evaluate processes for improvement, and partner on events with adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, customer service passion, financial savvy, and pet industry knowledge. Must excel in delegation, conflict resolution, and adapting to dynamic retail environments while prioritizing safety and engagement.

- Ensure compliance with policies, conduct monthly store walks & maintain inventory levels
- Foster company culture through associate engagement, recognition & development programs
- Manage store opening/closing procedures & partner on community events
- Monitor store cameras for safety & coach teams accordingly
- Cascade business objectives & adapt to changing priorities
