Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, interview, hire, coach, and terminate; build open-door culture; manage scheduling, reviews, training, and succession planning; recognize achievements.
- Store Experience: Lead associate and pet parent interactions; ensure pet safety; maintain standards via monthly walks; manage inventory and camera reviews; handle openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
