Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving exceptional service, efficient execution, and targeted business outcomes in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and foster an open-door culture with recognition and feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health, deliver outstanding pet parent service, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and prioritize a safe, compliant environment.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and partner on events with local adoption groups.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service and operations, and a passion for pets. Key skills include financial acumen, conflict resolution, inventory control, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting with flexible hours.
