Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; manage schedules, performance reviews, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture with feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences; ensure pet safety; conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, and maintain policy compliance; handle events and inventory.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; oversee opening/closing procedures.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, financial acumen, and a passion for customer service. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, conflict resolution, and adaptability to flexible schedules.
