Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) oversees all store operations, including safety, pet parent experience, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision by driving results, exceptional service, and efficient execution while building a high-engagement team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and resolve grievances to build an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions, events, and compliance walks; manage inventory and camera reviews for accountability.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in team building and customer service, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and flexibility for varied shifts. Pet care experience is a plus.
