Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; manage schedules, performance reviews, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture with recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences; ensure pet safety and health; conduct monthly walks, inventory compliance, and camera reviews; partner on events and community adoptions.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; maintain standards and safe environments.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and customer service. Flexibility for varied shifts and a passion for pets are essential.
