Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, manage inventory, and partner on community events like adoptions.
- Business Management: Drive profitability, analyze metrics, execute strategies, communicate objectives, and maintain compliance with policies and ethics.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, proficiency in team development and customer service, and knowledge of pet care. Key skills include financial acumen, operational execution, conflict resolution, and fostering engagement in dynamic settings.
