Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key metrics, champion outstanding service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; facilitate reviews, recognition, and succession planning; build an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, monitor compliance, and prioritize a safe environment.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, manage inventory, and collaborate on events like adoption partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, proficiency in team development and financial oversight, and a passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and fostering engagement in dynamic settings.
