Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, champion outstanding service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers. Lead pet parent interactions, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, review security footage, and partner on community events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, proficiency in team development and financial oversight, passion for pets, and skills in customer service, operations, and problem-solving. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
