Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; oversee opening/closing and events.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance; maintain inventory; communicate objectives; partner on community initiatives like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership to empower teams, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and operational savvy. Pet care passion, compliance knowledge, and adaptability in fast-paced settings are key. You'll excel at delegation, feedback-driven improvements, and fostering engagement.
