Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial outcomes, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and achieving profitability targets in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and foster an open-door culture with high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions, resolve concerns, and maintain a positive in-store environment through policy compliance and monthly walks.
- Business Management: Drive corporate strategies, analyze performance metrics, manage inventory, and execute events with adoption partners for optimal profitability.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service and operations, and financial acumen. Pet care passion, conflict resolution, and adaptability in fast-paced settings are essential. Proficiency in inventory tools, safety protocols, and associate feedback systems preferred.
