Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and achieving key business results in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions; maintain store standards; conduct safety walks; manage inventory and events.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze performance metrics; communicate objectives; review cameras for compliance and coaching.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and customer service, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include operational execution, conflict resolution, inventory control, and fostering engagement in a fast-paced setting. Flexible scheduling is essential.
