Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive PetSmart's culture, strategies, and values to deliver outstanding results while ensuring a safe, engaging environment for associates, pets, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and build an open-door culture using feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Champion pet parent service, ensure pet safety, manage complaints, conduct monthly walks, and oversee inventory and events.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and maintain compliance with policies and ethics.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, and passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, customer focus, financial acumen, and adaptability to dynamic retail settings. Experience with pet retail or services is a plus.
