Role Overview

The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• People Leadership: Handle recruiting, interviewing, hiring, coaching, and terminations. Build an open-door culture, manage scheduling, facilitate reviews, training, onboarding, and succession planning. Delegate effectively, cascade information, and celebrate team achievements.
• Store Experience: Lead associate and pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, respond to concerns, maintain standards, conduct monthly walks, prioritize safety, manage inventory, review cameras for compliance, and handle sick pets or store procedures.
• Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, identify root causes, communicate objectives, and partner on events with adoption groups.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Skills in operational efficiency, compliance, and fostering engagement are essential. Flexibility for days, nights, and weekends required.
