Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; manage pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; oversee inventory and compliance; partner on events and adoptions.
- Business Management: Drive profitability through strategic execution; analyze performance metrics; communicate objectives; review security footage for coaching; handle pet health emergencies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, financial oversight, and operations. Must excel in communication, problem-solving, and pet-centric decision-making. Experience with HR functions, inventory systems, and fostering inclusive cultures is essential.
