Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture with recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain store standards, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and prioritize safety for all.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and collaborate on events like adoption partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, expertise in team building and customer service, and a passion for pets. Proficiency in operations, financial oversight, and compliance is essential, along with adaptability to flexible schedules.
