Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive exceptional service, and execute strategies to achieve targeted outcomes in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and foster an open-door culture with high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver outstanding pet parent service in-store, online, and via phone; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews for compliance.
- Business Management: Analyze performance, manage inventory, execute corporate strategies, and achieve profitability goals through efficient operations and events.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service, operations, and financial accountability. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and a passion for pets. Flexibility for varied schedules is essential.
