Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, recognition, and succession planning; address grievances and build open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain store standards, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and review security footage for coaching.
- Operational Excellence: Collaborate on events, prioritize safety, communicate objectives, and adapt to business changes.
Experience & Skills
Seeking proven leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, pet care knowledge, financial oversight experience, and passion for customer service. Must excel in delegation, conflict resolution, and driving results in a fast-paced environment.

- Ensure exceptional pet parent service and resolve escalated concerns
- Manage inventory, scheduling, and compliance with company policies
- Conduct safety walks, camera reviews, and pet health interventions
- Drive community events and adoption partnerships
- Cascade business goals and adapt to changing priorities
