Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health, deliver outstanding pet parent service, conduct Core and Services Walks, monitor cameras, and maintain compliance with policies.
- Business Management: Analyze performance, execute corporate strategies for profitability, manage inventory, and communicate objectives to drive results.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, P&L responsibility, and customer service. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and a genuine passion for pets. Flexible availability required.

- Ensure exceptional pet parent service and resolve escalated concerns
- Drive profitability through inventory management, process improvements, and corporate strategy execution
- Maintain compliance with policies, conduct safety walks, and monitor store cameras for accountability
