Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, deliver exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences; ensure pet safety; manage complaints; conduct monthly walks; oversee inventory and camera reviews; handle sick pets and store openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoption groups; maintain policy compliance.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and operational efficiency. Flexibility for varied shifts and a passion for pets are essential.
