Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key results, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers. Lead pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, manage inventory, review cameras for compliance, and partner on community events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team development and customer service, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include operational execution, conflict resolution, inventory control, and fostering engagement in a fast-paced environment. Flexible availability is essential.

- Collaborate on in-store events and community partnerships
- Monitor store cameras and address safety risks promptly
