Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient execution in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; monitor cameras for safety; manage events and inventory.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; oversee opening/closing procedures.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, P&L responsibility, and a pet-loving mindset. Key skills include strategic delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability to drive results in a fast-paced store.
