Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive strategies for targeted outcomes, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and foster an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct Core and Services Walks, manage inventory, review cameras for compliance, and partner on community events like adoptions.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring retail management experience, proven leadership in team building and development, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and maintaining a safe, compliant environment. Flexible scheduling is essential.
