Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with feedback and recognition.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct compliance walks; oversee inventory and camera reviews; handle openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; partner on events and community initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and pet industry knowledge. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, conflict resolution, and adaptability to flexible schedules.
