Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environment for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; manage events and inventory compliance.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance; cascade objectives to team; optimize processes for efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, and P&L management. Key skills include strategic delegation, financial acumen, pet safety knowledge, and adaptability to dynamic retail environments. Passion for pets and community engagement a plus.
