Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver outstanding pet parent service; maintain store standards; conduct monthly walks; manage inventory and events; prioritize safety via camera reviews and vet transports.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; adapt to changing environments.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service and operations, financial acumen, and a passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and compliance enforcement in a fast-paced retail setting.
