Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient execution in a fast-paced pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; review cameras for safety and compliance.
- Business Management: Drive profitability, analyze performance, manage inventory, and execute corporate strategies; partner on events and adoption initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, and operations. Key skills include financial acumen, conflict resolution, process improvement, and a passion for pets. Experience with P&L responsibility and multi-department oversight preferred.

- Ensure exceptional pet parent service and resolve escalated concerns
- Manage inventory, scheduling, and compliance with policies and procedures
- Conduct store walks, camera reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Foster company culture, associate engagement, and community partnerships
