Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive results, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; foster open communication and high engagement through recognition and feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, and collaborate on events with adoption partners.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies, analyze performance metrics, optimize profitability, and maintain a safe, compliant environment.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, and operations. Key skills include financial acumen, problem-solving, delegation, and a passion for pets. Experience with P&L responsibility and multi-department oversight is essential.
