Role Overview

The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.

Key Responsibilities

• People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
• Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; manage inventory and events.
• Operational Excellence: Collaborate with leadership team; maintain policy compliance; prioritize safety; respond to pet health issues; oversee opening/closing procedures.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in team motivation, financial oversight, and customer-centric problem-solving. Passion for pets and ability to thrive in dynamic settings required.
