Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions; conduct monthly walks; prioritize safety; manage inventory and camera reviews; handle sick pets and store procedures.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; collaborate on events and adoption partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, financial oversight, and pet retail operations. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and fostering engagement in dynamic environments.
