Role Overview

The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.

People Leadership

Build high-performing teams through recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and succession planning. Foster an open-door culture, recognize achievements, and address concerns to boost engagement.

Overall Store Experience

Lead associate and pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, resolve escalations, and maintain a positive environment. Conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, prioritize safety, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive financial outcomes and operational efficiency
• Ensure policy compliance and ethical standards
• Monitor safety via cameras and respond to pet health issues
• Communicate objectives and adapt to changing priorities

Experience & Skills

Seeking leaders with retail management experience, strong people skills, financial savvy, and passion for pets. Key skills include team development, customer service, inventory control, and process improvement. Experience in pet retail is a plus.
