Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; manage pet parent interactions; lead events and compliance checks; oversee inventory and safety protocols including camera reviews and vet transports.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; optimize processes for sales and efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, expertise in team building and customer service, financial acumen, and a passion for pets. Proficiency in operations, safety, and conflict resolution is essential, with flexibility for varied schedules.
