Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving targeted outcomes through efficient execution and team empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and associate development to build high-engagement teams.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage pet parent interactions, events, and compliance via monthly walks and camera reviews.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, optimize inventory, and communicate objectives to drive sales and efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team leadership, customer service, and P&L management. Key skills include conflict resolution, strategic delegation, pet safety knowledge, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Passion for pets and community involvement is a plus.
