Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and achieving targeted results in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions; conduct Core and Services Walks; review cameras for safety; prioritize compliance and inventory levels.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoption groups; handle store opening/closing.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and motivation, expertise in customer service, operational efficiency, and financial accountability. Passion for pets, flexibility with schedules, and skills in conflict resolution are essential. You'll excel at delegating, mentoring, and adapting to changing priorities.
