Role Overview

The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key results, and deliver exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture.
  • Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer service; conduct monthly walks; maintain compliance; manage inventory and events.
  • Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; monitor safety via cameras; handle openings/closings.

  • Ensure exceptional pet parent service and resolve escalated concerns
  • Drive sales goals, analyze financial data, and execute corporate strategies
  • Maintain inventory levels, conduct store walks, and ensure policy compliance
  • Monitor store cameras, prioritize safety, and handle pet health issues
  • Lead community events and partner with adoption groups
  • Foster a positive store culture aligned with company values
  • Collaborate with leadership team for continuous improvement
