Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and achieving key business results in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and resolve grievances to build high-engagement teams.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions (in-person, phone, online); lead events, compliance walks, and safety protocols including camera reviews and vet transports.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance, manage inventory, communicate objectives, and optimize processes for continuous improvement.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in team building and customer service, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, associate development, operational efficiency, and adaptability in a fast-paced store setting with flexible hours.
