Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive targeted results, and foster an environment of empowerment and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, deliver reviews, and build engagement through recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; handle escalated concerns, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, and review security footage for coaching.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze performance, optimize processes, and partner on community events like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, and P&L management. Passion for pets, strong communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment are essential. Experience with pet care safety and HR practices preferred.
