Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead people functions: recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, reviews, and terminations.
- Build open-door culture, respond to associate feedback, and foster engagement through recognition and development.
- Ensure outstanding pet parent experiences across channels, resolve concerns, and prioritize pet safety.
- Maintain store standards, conduct safety walks, manage inventory, and review cameras for compliance.
- Collaborate on events, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership, financial skills, and pet passion. Excel in team building, customer service, operations, and HR while ensuring a safe environment for associates, pets, and customers.

- Knowledge of Canadian employment laws and HR practices (experience)
Responsibilities

- Drive exceptional customer service and resolve escalated pet parent concerns
- Ensure compliance with policies, conduct safety walks, and manage inventory levels

- Monitor store cameras, address risks, and coordinate events with community partners
