Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key results, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage customer interactions; conduct monthly walks for compliance; prioritize safety; oversee inventory and events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; review cameras for accountability; handle pet emergencies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and process improvement. Must thrive in dynamic settings with flexible availability.
