Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision by delivering exceptional service, fostering team success, and achieving business goals in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead people functions: recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, reviews, and succession planning.
- Drive store experience: ensure pet safety, resolve customer issues, conduct safety walks, and maintain standards.
- Manage business operations: analyze metrics, execute strategies, optimize inventory, and hit profitability targets.
- Build engagement: recognize achievements, cascade communications, and create an open-door culture.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership, customer focus, and analytical skills. Pet industry experience is a plus. Must thrive in fast-paced settings, handle flexible schedules, and prioritize safety and compliance.
