Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) oversees all store operations, including safety, customer experience, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision by delivering exceptional service, efficient execution, and a positive environment for associates, pets, and pet parents.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews and foster engagement through open communication and recognition.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy pets and outstanding pet parent service; manage escalations, conduct safety walks, monitor cameras, and maintain compliance.
- Business Management: Achieve profitability goals, optimize inventory, analyze performance, and execute corporate strategies while adapting to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, P&L accountability, and a pet-passionate mindset. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, customer focus, and problem-solving. Flexible availability for days, nights, and weekends is essential.
