Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions; ensure pet safety; maintain store standards; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; manage inventory and events.
- Operational Excellence: Prioritize safety; comply with policies; communicate objectives; respond to feedback and adapt to changes.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, passion for pets, and skills in customer service, financial management, and operational efficiency. Proficiency in HR functions, conflict resolution, and driving sales in a fast-paced retail environment is essential.
