Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions; maintain standards via monthly walks; prioritize safety; manage inventory and events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; review cameras for coaching; handle pet emergencies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and process improvement. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
