Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions; maintain store standards; conduct monthly walks; manage inventory and safety protocols; partner on community events.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance; communicate objectives; review security footage for coaching; execute corporate strategies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in sales driving, team motivation, and operational excellence. Must thrive in dynamic settings with flexible availability.
