Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving targeted results, exceptional service, and efficient daily execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and build an open-door culture using feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage escalations, conduct monthly walks, review cameras, and oversee openings/closings.
- Business Management: Analyze performance, execute corporate strategies, optimize inventory, communicate objectives, and partner on events for profitability and growth.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling.
