Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive strategies for exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain standards via monthly walks, manage inventory, review cameras for safety, and handle openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and collaborate on events and community partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, customer service, and operational efficiency. Must thrive in dynamic settings with pets, people, and parents.
