Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve results, champion service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; handle reviews, grievances, and recognition to build engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent service, resolve concerns, and optimize processes.
- Operations & Compliance: Manage inventory, conduct safety walks, review cameras, monitor policies, and partner on events/adoptions.
- Financial & Strategic: Communicate objectives, cascade information, and adapt to changes for targeted outcomes.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, operations, and pet retail. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and fostering open communication. Passion for pets and ability to thrive in dynamic environments required.
